Shells kinderfestival Generation Discover wint prestigieuze Europese lobby-prijs

“Shell is a 99% fossil company. As more and more people realize fossil fuels kill their world, fossil fuel industry has a huge problem. That’s why most fossil fuel companies try to hide the fact that they are a fossil fuel company by pretending to be exactly the opposite. Most oil companies succeed more or less into manipulating the public opinion, government and other relevant stakeholders. But none does as well as Royal Dutch Shell.”

“Shell very cleverly chose children and youngsters as their target audience. The kids are a way to reach parents (some of them will be on influential positions) and teachers (who can keep spreading Shells message). And of course, as Shell put it, kids are the customers and politicians of the future.”

“It takes a hell of a strategy to lure people into thinking a 99% fossil company is actually a sustainable energy company. But Shell cunningly succeeded. That’s why we are proud to hand over multiple Public Affairs-awards to Shell for their campaigns:

– #GenerationDiscover aimed at age +/- 8-12 yrs
– #MaketheFuture aimed at +/- 13-18 yrs
– #Ecomarathon aimed at age +/- 16-24 yrs”
